Bollywood Biopics In 2013!

After South remakes, biopics seem to the current trend in Bollywood.

2013 will see a lot of actors doing biopics of athletes, singers etc. Let’s have a look at all the biopics that Bollywood has to offer this year.

Ranbir Kapoor – Kishore Kumar Biopic : After the success of Barfi, director Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor come together yet again but this time for a biopic on legendary singer Kishore Kumar. Apparently Ranbir will portray Kishore Kumar from the age of 19-58 and for that he will gain around 15 kgs! The shooting for the film has not started yet.

Priyanka Chopra – Mary Kom Biopic : Priyanka has signed her first biopic, to be based on Olympic winner Mary Kom. According to Priyanka she has started training for the role and the shooting for the film will begin in June. This movie will be directed by Omung Kumar Bhandula.

Farhan Akhtar – Bhaag Milkha Bhaag : We were all impressed by the first teaser of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, a movie based on the life on Indian athlete Milkha Singh popularly known as the ‘Flying Sikh’. Farhan has trained hard for the role and looks extremely convincing as Milkha Singh. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag will release in June 2013.

Other than these three films, Vidya Balan has confirmed doing a biopic however there has been no official announcement on it as of now. It is being said that Vidya will play Indira Gandhi or classical singer M.S. Subbulakshmi in the biopic.

Also, a biopic is being planned on Dhyan Chand, India’s most famous Hockey player. Shahrukh Khan was initially approached for it but now there are reports that the makers might take one of the younger actors for the role.
