Bollywood Friday Releases – 28th September 2012

It’s that time of the week again where we give you the list of Bollywood movies that are releasing on the coming Friday that is on 28th September 2012. This week we have 2 Bollywood movie hit the theaters – OMG Oh My God! and Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal. Here’s a sneak peak.

OMG Oh My God!: Akshay Kumar’s home production OMG Oh My God! is the story of Kanjibhai and his fight with God. The film is based on popular Gujarati play ‘Kanji Virudh Kanji’. It is the story of Kanjibhai, a businessman who doesn’t believe in god. During an earthquake his store is destroyed following which he files a complaint against god in the court. His logic is that because god was responsible for the damage, he should also pay for the damage that Kanjibhai’s business suffered due to the earthquake! The movie with a comedy with a social message.

Star Cast: Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar

Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal: This film is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Marykkundoru Kunjaadu. Priyadarshan is known for making comedies especially those which are remakes of super hit movies from down south and Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal is yet another addition to that list. The movie is based in a Christian village and is about a guy named Johnny who is afraid of everything and everyone in this world. To solve the  problems in his love life and to protect himself from his enemies, Johnny brings in a very strong man as his bodyguard. Problem is that the man in addition to being powerful is also very hungry.

Star Cast: Shreyas Talpade, Om Puri, Nana Patekar, Rajpal Yadav, Anjana Sukhani

So these are our two Bollywood releases for 28th September 2012. Out of these two, OMG! Oh My God will clearly enjoy a better opening. The promos were good and also the presence of Akshay Kumar will guarantee a decent opening. Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal will have to rely on word of mouth. The promos were not up to the mark and there’s hardly any buzz around it. Let’s see which one of these is able to sustain itself at the box office.
