It’s that time of the week again where we give you the list of Bollywood movies that are releasing on the coming Friday that is on 31st August 2012. This week we have 3 Bollywood movies hit the theaters – Joker, I M 24 and Jalpari. Here’s a sneak peak.
Joker: The movie is said to be a comedy with a science fiction background. Joker stars Akshay Kunar and Sonakshi Sinha and in addition to them, also aliens! The story is about a village named Paglapur which doesn’t exist on the Indian map. A scientist named Agastya (played by Akshay) comes to Paglapur with his wife (played by Sonakshi) on a secret mission. The couple is shocked to see that the villagers of Paglapur still live in the pre-independence era, so much that that believe that Mahatma Gandhi is till alive!

I M 24: Shubendu (played by Rajat Kapoor) is a 42 year old balding writer who falls in love with a 22 year old Anjali (played by Manjari Phadnis). The two meet over the internet and Shubendu lies about his age saying that he is only 24. His roommate Gagan who is an expert in lying helps him to cook more stories. Thus begins a joyride of lies, goof-ups and fun! What happens when the truth is exposed? I M 24 is directed by Saurabh Shukla.

Jalpari – The Desert Mermaid: This children’s film is a story of a brother and sister who arrive in a village in Haryana from New Delhi. At first the kids find the village very strange but soon they fill it up with their laughter and mischief. However the village has some deep dark secrets which slowly begin to unfold in front of the kids. Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid stars Harsh Mayar who won National Award for best child artist last year.
Star Cast: Lehar Khan, Krishang Trivedi, Harsh Mayar and Parvin Dabas
Out of the three Bollywood Releases on 31st August, Joker will get the biggest opening. However we don’t think that it will have a huge opening because the promos have been unable to generate interest among the audience in spite of the fact that it stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha whose last movie Rowdy Rathore was a blockbuster. I M 24 and Jalpari will pick up if the word of mouth is good.
