Ranbir Kapoor and his antics in Barfi have managed to charm the audience. Even though the film had a limited release on around 1300 screens, Barfi has managed to collect more than 34 crore in it’s 1st weekend. These are amazing numbers considering the film had a limited release. The film was not expected to open big however it surprised one and all by fetching 9 crore on it’s first day. The extremely positive word of mouth helped the movie to grow tremendously on Saturday and Sunday.
Barfi now looks on track to be Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest hit edging out Rajneeti. Here is the day wise 1st weekend collection of Barfi.
1st day, Friday: 9 crore
2nd day, Saturday: 11.50 crore
3rd day, Sunday: 13.70 crore
Total: 34.20 crore
The film is holding on very well on Monday, so the first week collections for Barfi will definitely be excellent. The success of Barfi has once again proved that content is the real king in Bollywood and a good movie always finds appreciation even if the protagonists don’t have a single line in it.
