Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha whose last film Rowdy Rathore was a huge hit were unable to repeat the magic with Joker which released today. The movie opened to a dull response at the box office and the all India average was in the range on 15-20%. The number are shockingly low especially for an Akshay Kumar starrer. There are reports that the morning shows at some places had to be cancelled because of low occupancy. Looking at the early trends, the first day collection is likely to be in the range of 5 crore.
The film has received bad reviews from the critics and the word of mouth is also negative. Looking at the current situation it is unlikely to pick up majorly on weekends. Let’s see if Joker can make any gains on Saturday else it will turn out to be Akshay Kumar’s first failure this year and Sonakshi’s first in her career.
