Ek Thi Daayan off to a slow start at the box office

This week’s release Ek Thi Daayan is off to a slow start at the box office. The movie started slowly in the morning but picked up by evening, the opening was around 35-45% across the country. The average opening hasn’t come as a surprise since Ek Thi Daayan didn’t look like a “typical” Emraan Hashmi film. Also it’s a horror film and movies in this genre do not have a wide appeal. The first day collections are likely to be in the range of 6-7 crore.

Ek Thi Daayan should pick up over the weekend especially in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The single screens will under perform for this one.
