The very talented Arshad Warsi celebrates his 44th birthday today. The actor who made his Bollywood debut with Tere Mere Sapne had to struggle a lot before he could establish himself in Bollywood. After a string of flops it was the role of ‘Circuit’ in Munnabhai MBBS which made him the darling of the nation and ever since there has been not looking back!
Interestingly Arshad’s debut film Tere Mere Sapne did well at the box office but after tasting success with his very first film he could not deliver another hit for the next six years. Then came Munnabhai MBBS in 2003 in which Arshad played the now iconic character of ‘Circuit’. The actor played the role to such perfection that it was impossible for the viewers to not fall in love with the mega adorable ‘Circuit’. The role won him critical acclaim and Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The ‘Circuit’ saga didn’t end there for the actor was to play the character once again in Lage Raho Munnabhai, the sequel to Munnabhai MBBS. The film was again a super hit and this time around the actor bagged the Filmfare for Best Comedian. The third installment of the series is highly awaited!
After Munnabhai, Arshad went on to play prominent roles in various successful movies like Golmaal, Salaam Namaste, Dhamaal, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3 and Ishqiya. He also tried his hands on television and successfully hosted the first season of Bigg Boss. In 2012, we will get to see the actor in Zill Ghaziabad, Jolly LLB, Bhaiyyaji Superhit and Dedh Ishqiya.
