Legendary director Yash Chopra turns 80 today. This birthday is all the more special for him because his next directorial venture Jab Tak Hai Jaan is about to release in some time. Often hailed as the king of romance, Yash Chopra began directing films in 1959 with the movie Dhool Ke Phool. Ever since he has given Indian cinema some memorable films like Waqt, Silsila, Deewar, Kabhi Kabhie, Lamhe, Chandni, Dil To Pagal Hai etc.
Yash Chopra has been known for weaving magic in his romantic stories. His heroines particularly have always been very special, whether it was Sridevi in Chandni and Lamhe, Rekha in Silsila or Madhuri in Dil ToPagal Hai. He has his way in presenting these actresses in the most beautiful manner. It is thus not surprising that these actresses have given their most memorable performances in his films.
His last directorial venture was Veer Zaara which came way back in 2004. Now after 8 years, he directs Shahrukh Khan again although this time opposite Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in Jab Tak Hai Jaan. On his birthday, a special event named “Shahrukh Khan in conversation with Yash Chopra” has been organized. The event will go on air today at YRF’s You Tube channels.
