Director Sajid Khan is all set to taste his first failure at the box office. His latest release Himmatwala hasn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing. The film which Sajid said will be the biggest hit of 2013 and will cross 100 crore in 10 days has been only able to collect little over 31 crore in it’s opening weekend. Himmatwala had a decent to good start and collected 12 crore on Friday however the film dropped heavily over the weekend owing to poor word of mouth.
Here is the weekend box office collection of Himmatwala.
Friday: 12.1 crore
Saturday: 8.5 crore
Sunday, Day 3: 10.5 crore
Total: 31.1 crore nett
The movie is doing very poorly at multiplexes. The collections have dropped heavily on Monday and are likely to be in the range of 4-5 crore. Looking at the current trend, Himmatwala will struggle to get past a lifetime collection of 50 crore (forget about 100 crore!).
