Joker not to release in 3D – Shirish Kunder

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha’s upcoming movie Joker will not release in 3D after all. The news was confirmed by director Shirish Kunder on twitter “JOKER will release in 2D format. Its a decision taken by business heads based on the reactions to recent 2D & 3D films of big Superstars”, he wrote.

There has been a lot of hype and hoopla around Joker being released in 3D. However looks like the production house decided to scrap the idea after looking at the not so positive outcomes of recently released 3D movies. Some of the recent 3D movies in Bollywood include Ra.One, Dangerous Ishq and Don 2.

The film was also recently postponed and will now release on September 14th. It was said that Akshay was not happy with the VFX and wanted some improvisation. Well first the postponement and now this, it seems everything is not all right with Shirish Kunder’s Joker. The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles and is the story of a NASA scientist (played by Akshay) who returns to his ancestral village only to find out that nothing has changed there in the last 60 years. The film also deals with aliens and hence the VFX.

We wish the entire crew good luck!
