India’s melody queen Lata Mangeshkar today thanked Aamir Khan and his team for producing a show like Satyamev Jayate. Lata Mangeshkar applauded Aamir for creating awareness in the society towards female foeticide, dowry etc. She said that she watches the show regularly and hopes that the government takes some action on the issues highlighted in the show “main humesha ye programme dekhti hun,aamir ne isme kannya bhrun hatya,maila sar par uthaanewale mazdoor,bujurg maa baap ko ghar se nikaalnewale bacche,bal yaun shoshan jaise samaj ke liye sharmnak muddaao’n pe roshni daali hai,mai’n aamir aur satyamev jayate ki team ko badhai deti hun,aur asha karti hun ki is prayas per sirkar jald se jald dhyan degi. (I watch this show regularly, the show has thrown light on issues like female foeticide, child sexual abuse and elders being thrown out of house. I applaud Aamir and the team for their efforts and hope that government will take some action on these issues)
She ended her tweet with a sher from Khumar Barabankvi and thanked Aamir for creating this show “Maine ek sher padha hai khumar barabankvi sahab ka wo aap sab ki khidmat me pesh karti hun. Sabhi kuch ho raha hai is taraqi ke zamane mein,magar ye kya ghazab hai aadmi insaa’n nahi hota. Dhanyawad aamir.”, she wrote.
Aamir Khan’s 13 episode show Satyamev Jayate will end next week. There are speculations about the show coming back with a second season but nothing has been confirmed as of now.
