Two of the most famous actresses of India cinema, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla will be sharing the screen for the very first time in Anubhav Sinha’s Gulab Gang. Taking to Times Of India, Anubhav said “Gulab Gang is about two iconic female characters. I couldn’t have pulled off a better cast than the two most iconic female stars, Madhuri and Juhi, together for the first time on Indian screen. My film is an action and drama piece with two women at loggerheads. I needed actors who would justifiably match up to each other, both in terms of their performance and stature. I think, this is the best the film could get, because the subject material is so strong.”
Madhuri was confirmed for the movie long ago, whereas Juhi got on the board a few days back. Apparently Gulab Gang is based on the life of Sampat Pal, the leader of Gulabi Gang, a women’s group which fights against domstic vioelence and social issues in Uttar Pradesh.
With Madhuri and Juhi on screen for the first time, Gulab Gang has definitely made it to one of our most awaited films on 2013!
