Madhuri to star in Ishqiya sequel

Madhuti Dixit has finally signed her next hindi film, the sequel to the 2010 Ishqiya. The film is titled Dedh Ishqiya and will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey who also directed the original movie. The industry was abuzz with the news that Madhuri has signed choreographer Remo D’souzas’ dance based film. However her manager rubbished the news saying that the actress has not even been approached for the same.

The Ishqiya sequel will see Madhuri playing a grey character who will be mouthing a lot of shayaris. Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah have been retained from the original cast. Kangana Ranaut will also be playing an important role and is a new addition to the Ishqiya sequel. Madhuri’s manager confirmed the news “Madhuri is doing the film, and she is very charged up about it. Vishal was keen that she do this film. Though talks have been going on for a few months, we had the final narration last Saturday, where Madhuri said yes. The money and dates have also been sorted.”

The cast will start shooting for the film from May. Ishqiya released in 2010 and received a good response by the critics and the audience. Vidya Balan who received tremendous praise for her performance in the prequel will however not be a part of Dedh Ishqiya.
