Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola opened to a dull response at the box office. The film had a wide release at around 1900 screens however from the initial response it looks like it failed to garner the public attention. The collections at multiplexes have been better than single screens which have fared rather poorly. All India opening was in the range of 30-35%.
The first day box office collections for Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola are expected to be in the range of 6.5 to 7 crore, which is definitely not a very big number. The movie has done comparatively better in NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore whereas it struggled in mass centers like Bihar and UP. The critic reviews for this Vishal Bhardwaj movie have been mixed and it has to be seen whether the film is able to pick up on weekends. Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola should show a good jump on Saturday in order to come up with a good figure for it’s 1st weekend.
