Sonakshi Sinha's disco avatar in Himmatwala

Sonakshi Sinha is doing a disco number in Sajid Khan’s remake of Himmatwala. The song is titled “Thank God It’s Friday” and is choreographed by Chinni Prakash. The song is apparently inspired from Sridevi and Parveen Babi’s retro disco numbers and Manish Malhtora was roped in to create a similar look for Sonakshi.

Talking about the song Sonakshi said “Manish has done a fantastic job and I absolutely love both my looks. I also watched the videos of their (the actress’) old songs before I started shooting. I would even watch other songs in the vanity to understand the dancing and the style of that era”.

Here are some pictures from Sonakshi’s disco number from Himmatwala. While the first one is similar to Parveen Babi’s look from “Pyaar Karne Waale” from Shaan, the second one is inspired from Sridevi’s look in Chalbaaz.

Himmatwala stars Ajay Devgn and Tammanah and will release in March.
