Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani continues to do well at the box office. The film which had a good first week of around
24-25 crores is all set to become a superhit. The film has been rock steady in its second week with collections dropping marginally. Kahaani has received tremendous response from the critics and the audiences. The film which took a slow opening gained through positive word of mouth and its 2 weeks business is now set to exceed 40 crores. The film is a blockbuster in West Bengal and in Mumbai its second week numbers are likely to be more than biggies like Ra.One, Bodyguard, Ready and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
The small films that released last week were unable to attract any viewers. This made way for Kahaani to continue its good run at the box office. The success of Kahaani definitely proves that the Indian audience has come of age. A well made film was always appreciated by critics but now a well made film also does well at the box office even if it doesn’t have the superstars! That’s definitely a welcome change for Bollywood. With the success of Kahaani, we wish to see more content oriented films from our directors and actors. The film’s success has also established Vidya Balan as one of the most bankable stars in the country. She was the only star in the film and this is her second consecutive women centric film which has done well at the box office! We congratulate Vidya Balan and the entire team of Kahaani on this phenomenal success. Very well deserved!
