Reema Kagti, the director of the upcoming Aamir Khan starrer Taalash has rubbished all the rumors which stated that the story of Vidya Balan’s Kahaani is similar to Taalash and this was the reason for the film’s postponment. Speaking to a Mumbai Mirror the director said that Taalash has no similarity to Kahaani whatsoever and the rumor is just a fragment of someone’s imagination. It might be recalled that Taalash was originally supposed to release on 1st June however last week it was announced that the movie would now release on 30th November. This led to frustration and anger amongst Aamir fans who have been waiting for long to see their favorite actor on screen. The postponement came as a surprise and gave rise to various speculations. One of the rumors was that Talaash’s story/ending was very similar to Kahaani and since now Kahaani is a hit Aamir wants to change the ending of Talaash.
But the director of Talaash, Reema Kagti today said that “I am rather surprised about these rumours. We have moved the release of the film to November because we didn’t want it to clash with Aamir’s TV show but some chose to build their own stories. I have heard a lot about ‘Kahaani’. Sujoy Ghosh is a good friend and I am sure it would be fantastic. But there is nothing that is similar about the two films.” Speaking on the similarity between her movie and Taalash she said “Let Talaash release and the film will speak for itself. People will realise on their own that there is no similarity whatsoever.” Well we would like to believe her. For the time being, lets wait and watch.
