Shahid Kapoor has been having a bad patch for quite some time now. His releases in the last few years like Dil Bole Hadippa, Chance Pe Dance, Badmaash Company, Milenge Milenge and Mausam didn’t exactly create history at the box office. In fact the last movie of his that was well received by the critics and the audience alike was Kaminey back in 2009. After three years, Shahid teams up with his Kaminey co-star Priyanka Chopra once again for Kunal Kohli’s Teri Meri Kahaani.
Teri Meri Kahaani is a love story set across three different time zones- 1910, 1960 and finally 2012. Shahid will be seen playing three different characters in the film- Javed, Govind and Krissh. According to the actor he could personally relate the most to Javed’s character from 1910. “There was so much of me in it. Whether it is shayari or playing a lover, he was just the way I am. It is a heroic and massy kind of character. There is so much of magic in him. Javed is the man every woman would love to meet. Also, he is shown belonging to an era of 1910 that is what makes it special” said Shahid.
Shahid is known for performing well in romantic roles and in Teri Meri Kahaani, he gets to play not one but three romantic characters! Shahid and Priyanka’s chemistry was well appreciated in Kaminey and their off screen link ups have also generated a lot of hype for the movie already.
Will the movie be able to revive Shahid’s career and provide him with that one elusive hit that he has been looking for? We will find that out when the movie hits the theaters on 22nd June.
