This week’s release Agent Vinod has taken a decent opening at the multiplexes. The Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer has however remained dull at single screens. Most of the morning shows at multiplexes had 50-55% occupancy, however a jump was seen in the numbers for the evening shows. Agent Vinod is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, the movie was also hugely promoted. But it looks like the heavy promotions and even the real life couple of Saif-Kareena could not give it a great opening. How well the film performs from here will largely depend on the word of mouth.
On the other the Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani continues its impressive run at the box office. While movies usually drop by 50-70% in their second week, Kahaani just dropped by 25% which is truly impressive. The two weeks figure is well above 40 Cr and the movie is already a super hit. The other surprise hit of the year Paan Singh Tomar also continues to do well in its fourth week.
