B.O. update : Agent Vinod below average, Blood Money struggles

Box Office Update: Last week release ‘Agent Vinod’ failed to set guns blazing at the box office. The film was one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, and was also hugely promoted but even then it failed to pull in the audiences. The movie suffered due to mixed reviews and largely negative word of mouth. It long running time was one of its major drawback. Though it picked up over the weekend, it was the weekdays collections that have effected it the most. The film was able to collect 36.75 Crores in its first week and it would be very difficult for it to sustain in the second week.

This week’s release ‘Blood Money’ has taken an average opening. The film is faring better at single screens than at multiplexes. Most of the shows at single screens had 20-25% occupancy. With negative reviews, this one doesn’t seem to have a bright future at the box office.

On the other hand Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ continues its excellent run at the box office. The film has collected more than 50 Crores in 3 weeks and is already a super hit. The movie has become an All Time Blockbuster in West Bengal!

All eyes are now on ‘Housefull 2’ which releases on next Friday, the 6th of April.
