Priyanka Chopra’s younger cousin Parineeti Chopra made her Bollywood debut last year with Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl. Though the film did average business at the box-office, Parineeti impressed one and all with her superlative performance in the movie. She appeared to be completely at ease in front of the camera and it never looked like it was her first film. Parineeti went on to win every possible movie award trophy for the Best Debut. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that she overshadowed everyone in Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl including Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma.
Her second film, Ishaqzaade released last Friday and once again the reviewers can’t stop raving about this new bundle of talent in Bollywood. According to most critics, Parineeti portrays Zoya effortlessly and is definitely the show stealer in Ishaqzaade. Two back to back praise worthy performances have definitely proved one thing- Parineeti Chopra is here to stay in Bollywood.
Comparisons are bound to happen especially when you are related and are part of the same industry. Priyanka has been in the industry for long and has proved her acting abilities in a number of movies. However if we compare Priyanka’s earlier performances to Parineeti’s, the latter comes across as more natural on screen. There’s no denying that Priyanka is a fine actress and Parineeti has a long way to go before she could be considered anywhere close to her elder cousin, but her future definitely looks bright as of now. While we look forward to their future films, we would like to see Priyanka and Parineeti act together in a movie! Now that will be something to watch out for.
