Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan won top honors at the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards which were conducted last night in Mumbai. While Ranbir’s performance of a deaf and mute guy in Barfi was awarded , Vidya was given the trophy for her convincing performance in Kahaani. Barfi! also won the Best Film award while the Best Director award went to Sujoy Ghosh for Kahaani. Interestingly Ranbir and Vidya had won the Best Actor and Best Actress award at Filmfare last year too!

After winning the award. Ranbir gave his thank you speech through gestures, much like his character in Barfi! Vidya on the other hand thanked the entire team of Kahaani for her award “This goes to the entire team of Kahaani and thank you Setu (cinematographer) for making a pregnant women look beautiful. This is very special to all women who have lived their life with courage”, said Vidya.
The Filmfare Award was hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan who had the audience in splits with their jokes. The night also also some spectacular performances from Shahrukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.
