Vidya Balan, who is known for portraying strong roles in her movies is now rumored to play Mehrunissa in Sudhir Mishra’s next.
The actress is tipped to portray Mehrunissa over two time frames- ages 20 and 62. The older role is said to be inspired by yesteryear’s superstar Waheeda Rehman. If all goes well, Vidya will be sharing the screen once again with superstar Amitabh Bachchan. The film will also have Rishi Kapoor in a significant role.
Mehrunissa is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. Vidya has already committed her dates to RajKumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar wherein she will be starring opposite Emraan Hashmi. She is expected to begin shooting for Mehrunissa only after she’s done with Ghanchakkar, which will be by the year end. However Vidya on her part has not confirmed signing the film. Producer Nikhil Advani and director Sudhir Mishra are also tight lipped about it.
