Ek Tha Tiger not Anti-Pakistan, assures Kabir Khan

Amidst reports of Ek Tha Tiger being banned in Pakistan, director Kabir Khan has assured the audience that his film is not Anti-Pakistan. Earlier in the day it was reported that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has asked the TV channels to stop airing Ek Tha Tiger promos since it revolved around ISI. According to the officials the movie aims to tarnish the image of Pakistan.

However director Kabir Khan hopes that the Pakistan Censor Board will clear the film after watching it “I am absolutely sure that once the censor board of Pakistan sees ‪#EkThaTiger‬… they will be more than happy to show the film in Pakistan” he wrote. The director further added “I can assure the millions of fans of Salman in Pakistan that ‪#EkThaTiger‬ will release in theatres in their country”.

Kabir Khan said that the temporary ban on the promos is the result of anti-Pakistan films that have been made in the past. According to him he would never even think of making something which shows a country or religion in bad light. “In this day and age… its stupid to make films that are insensitive or derogatory to any country or community…This is the price we have to pay because unfortunately our industry has made insensitive and jingoistic films in the past..”, he wrote.

Will Ek Tha Tiger release in Pakistan on 15th August? Or will it get banned just like Agent Vinod. For millions of Salman Khan fans in Pakistan, we hope that the movie gets released in the country.
