Rowdy Rathore beats Agneepath, on it’s way to be a blockbuster!

It seems there’s no stopping Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore at the box office. The film has collected 48 crore in its first weekend, the highest for the year so far and is now on it’s way to be a Blockbuster! Agneepath‘s first weekend collection was 63 crore however it was a four day weekend as the film had released on 26th January (Thursday) which was a holiday. So the first three day figures for the biggest films in 2012 so far are:

Agneepath: 46 crore

Housefull 2: 43 crore

Rowdy Rathore: 48 crore

Clearly, Rowdy Rathore is one it’s way to be the biggest hit of the year. The film opened to a tremendous response and and has definitely set up the box office on fire. Here is the three day collection break-up for Rowdy Rathore.

Friday: 15 crore

Saturday: 15 crore

Sunday: 18 crore

Total: 48 crore

The film has held on to it’s business on Monday too. Reports are excellent especially from single screens. The drop for Momday is likely to be in the range of 15-35% which is remarkable. The first Monday collections for Rowdy Rathore could well be in the range of 10 crore which will be much higher than first Monday collection of Agneepath and Housefull 2.

The super success of the film has indeed consolidated Akshay Kumar’s star power at the Box Office. Way to go Akshay!
