Vidya shines at Vidhu Vinod Chopra Retrospective - Pictures

Actress Vidya Balan was seen in a traditional saree at the screening of her debut film Parineeta. The occasion was Vidhu Vinod Chopra Retrospective, which celebrates 30 years of the filmmaker being in the film industry by screening his most popular films. ‘Parinda’ was the first film to be screened yesterday and today it was ‘Parineeta’. The event will see the screening to ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ tomorrow.

Vidya Balan who is the most sought out actress today said that she had to give more than 60 screen tests before she finally bagged the role in Parineeta. Vidhu Vinod Chopra on the occasion said that his first choice for Parineeta was Aishwarya Rai however it was Vidya’s determination and confidence that finally won him over and he decided to cast her in the movie. Parineeta was a hit at the box office and Balan’s performance was widely appreciated. The producer said that he is proud of Vidya and her achievements today.
