You will need to pay more to watch Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger which releases next week. The multiplexes have decided to increase the ticket price for the movie by 10-15%. Though ticket prices have been hiked up before as well during Diwali, Eid time but this huge increase is being done for the first time. Obviously multiplex owners do want to miss the chance to pocket up as much as they can with this the most anticipated movie of the year.
Talking to a daily the Head Of Operations, Fun Cinemas said “Nationally, the price will rise by about Rs 20 per ticket. After all it is a premium product. This kind of thing is done during festive seasons. And today Salman films demand higher premium than before.” Most of theaters have allocated 90% of their shows to Ek Tha Tiger. The increase in ticket price will vary from 10 to 15% depending on the number of multiplexes in the area. The increase will be greatest in areas with fewer multiplexes.
