The word ‘superstar’ will remain with Rajesh Khanna: Amitabh

Paying tribute to his Anand co-star Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan said that the word superstar was invented for him and it shall always remain with him “The word ‘superstar’ was invented for him, and for me it shall ever remain his, and no others .. !!”, wrote Big B on twitter.

He also said that he was shocked by Rajesh Khanna’s sudden death “What can one say when a colleague, a most important member of the fraternity, younger than you passes away..Rajesh Khanna no more !  I stand mute in front of his still body, with nothing crossing my mind … just disbelief, and a reverence to his departed soul !!”, he wrote. Describing Rajesh Khanna’s fan following Big B said that today’s generation will never be able to understand his stardom “His generation and the generations that follow, shall never be able to describe, or understand his phenomena .. !! Just the mere mention of his name ‘Rajesh Khanna’ sent myriad images of fanfare, awe, and reverential mention !!”.

Amitabh also revealed that Kaka’s last words as he breathed his last were time “pack up”. “At his home earlier today, someone close came up and told me, his last words were ‘time up ho gaya – pack up !!’ wrote Amitabh on twitter.
