Box Office: Ek Tha Tiger fastest to reach 100 crore, blockbuster!

Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger has raced ahead to be the biggest hit of 2012 with in just 6 days of it’s release. The film has broken several records at the box office and is now the fastest movie to reach 100 crore in 6 days. Earlier this record was held by another Salman Khan starrer, Bodyguard which took 7 days to reach the magical figure.

According to official figures from Yash Raj Films, Ek Tha Tiger has so far collected 137 crore+ in 7 days! Here’s the Ek Tha Tiger official box office collection figures from YRF. This is YRF’s first film in the 100 crore club.

1st Day, Wednesday – 32.92 crore

2nd Day, Thursday – 14.52 crore

3rd Day, Friday -12.90 crore

4th Day, Saturday – 16.75 crore

5th Day, Sunday – 23.06 crore

6th Day, Monday – 20.64 crores

7th Day, Tuesday – 16.31 crores

Total – 137.15 crore in 7 Days

In fact such has been the craze for the movie, that it has collected more than 16 crore on Tuesday which was a working day. Such numbers have never been heard in the past especially on a working day. Ek Tha Tiger now holds almost every record at the Indian box office – fastest to read 100 crore, biggest opening day, biggest Sunday, biggest first Monday, biggest first week, biggest first weekend and more!

What remains to be seen is whether its lifetime collections can go past Aamir’s 3 idiots. Well looking at Ek Tha Tiger‘s magical run, this shouldn’t be too difficult!
